The Mei Tai carrier (pronounced “may-tie”) is a popular modern version of a traditional Asian-style baby carrier. It has a panel of fabric with two shorter straps that go around the waist and two longer straps to wrap over the shoulder. Mei-tais are tied with each wear, so it’s easy for multiple caregivers to share babywearing time without having to fuss with re-adjustment.

Unique features: It has padded shoulders, is reversible, and you can get it customized if ordered directly from Babyhawk/Moby.
What I liked: The waist straps were a good size.
What I didn’t like: The shoulder straps were a little short to do the Tibetan finish that makes it more comfortable for me. It got uncomfortable when worn for a long time. I also like wrap straps over padded straps.
Who would use this: Anyone that likes the moldability of wrapping with more of the convenience of a buckle carrier.
How does it compare to similar carriers (if applicable): It is a pretty standard type of mei tai with padded shoulders. No hood.
My body type/build: short size 12
Age and weight of child worn: 13 month old about 21 lbs
